December 13, 2018- Memphis, TN- Glankler Brown, PLLC is pleased to announce that Andre B. Mathis was awarded the Sam A. Myar, Jr. Memorial Award at the Memphis Bar Association’s Annual Dinner.
The award is named for the late Sam Myar who died in 1959 at the age of 39, and it is given each year to an attorney who is 40 years old or younger and who has rendered outstanding personal service to the legal profession and the Memphis community.
Andre has represented clients, including businesses and municipalities, in various aspects of employment law, including discrimination litigation and contractual disputes. Andre has also assisted in the counseling of employers designed to ensure compliance with federal laws and regulations, including counseling on issues related to Title VII, the Fair Labor Standards Act, USERRA, and other laws. Andre further represents public and private schools, including K-12 schools and private colleges in all aspects of education law, including litigation, developing policies and providing advice and counsel. Andre’s civil/commercial practice also includes the representation of individuals, businesses and municipal entities in disputes involving construction, insurance coverage, personal injury (premises liability, transportation litigation, etc.), municipal law, contractual disputes and banking. In addition, Andre represents clients investigated for and/or charged with various criminal offenses in state and federal court.
